Wayne Rooney has received permission to build his new £20 million villa – including a mini-football pitch.

The former England captain was given the green light to build after East Cheshire Council received no objections from neighbours.

He will be able to hone his skills on the new artificial turf field, which will feature player benches, a player lounge and rows of seats in place of the riding arena that currently occupies the site.

Perhaps Rooney’s sons Kit, Kai and Klay will join him on the pitch and a future generation of football stars will grow up in this incredible new home.

If he fancy inviting some of his Everton teammates over for a game of kick-off, there is plenty of space for them to stay in the four-bedroom guesthouse on site.

The luxurious new complex will also be surrounded by two artificial fishing lakes.

Inside you will find a swimming pool with billiards room, bar, wine shop, cinema, gym, jacuzzi, swimming pool, plunge pool and steam room.

Rooney’s planning officer told The Sun: “The proposal is to replace the approved home with a 5-a-side football pitch. The overall size of the pitch is slightly larger than the home but not significantly larger.

“The internal layout of the stables has been altered to allow conversion from stable building to ancillary accommodation. Internally, the building offers a guest annex with four double bedrooms and a shared living/kitchen area.

“There is also a lounge and overnight area that serves the use of the football pitch including toilets/storage/showers/changing rooms.”

The Rooney family currently live in a £5 million house nearby, but his wife Coleen decided a move was necessary after a burglary in August 2016.
