Wayne Murray Whynaucht – Post Bulletin

Wayne Whynaucht, 84, spent most of his life in Rochester, MN, and passed away on Saturday, August 3, 2024 in Kansas City, Missouri, surrounded by his family after battling kidney failure for several years due to complications from diabetes.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Janet Whynaucht (whom he met on a blind date in 1962 after she traveled to California with his mother and sister). They have four children, Kurt (Judy) Whynaucht of KC MO, Mark (Cheryl) Whynaucht of Stoutland MO, Debbie (Whynaucht) Spadafora of KC MO, John (Nancy) Whynaucht of Savage MN, 9 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Grandson Tyler Whynaucht and son-in-law Joseph Spadafora are deceased.

Dad was our little rock (he read the Bible almost every day), our teacher in so many things, our driver in the middle of winter blizzards (he made donuts in empty parking lots), and our “Incredible Hulk.” He loved eating out, eating desserts, making fudge, working in the garage, and helping anyone he could.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, August 18th at 11 a.m. at the Souder Funeral Home in Kansas City, MO. Burial will follow at a later date at Leavenworth National Cemetery.

Condolences are welcome at [email protected].
