In episode no. 6, Melt makes a name for himself as an actor

Season 2, Episode #6 of Oshi no Ko begins with the beginning of the stage play Tokyo Blade with an opening sequence introducing the various characters of the story. The game begins with Blade, played by Himekawa, stumbling upon a katana and then his path crosses that of Tsurugi, played by Kana.

In the second act of the play, the group formed by Blade, known as the Shinjuku Cluster, crosses blades with the demons of the Shibuya Cluster, starting with a Stalemate between Melt’s character Kizami and Kamoshida’s character Monme. Cut to a few days earlier: The play’s producer Raida and Kaburagi are discussing Kamoshida’s acting when Raida voices his concerns about Melt and asks Kaburagi why he decided to cast Melt in the play. Kaburagi reveals his self-interest in Melt, as he seems to see the potential in him and is aware of his efforts to perform well and improve.

Back to the fight between Kizami and Monme, the audience notices Melt’s poor acting. A flashback reveals Melt’s backstory and how he became an actor, with a heartbreaking scene where he breaks down in tears when he sees himself on Sweet Today and realizes his poor acting, spurring him to work harder to improve as an actor. The episode reveals that Melt even sought advice from Aqua, who advised him to use his poor acting to surprise the audience. Melt does just that when he replicates a stunt from the manga by throwing his blade in the air and spinningwhich causes the audience to erupt in applause.

Kaburagi smiles because he knows that his guess about Melt was correct, while Yoriko, who had been pretty resentful of Melt for his appearance on Sweet Today up until now, also bursts into tears when she sees his performance.
