GRAND ISLAND – As the Nebraska State Fair prepares for its next 11 days of the fair, it is reminding guests that all visitors can look forward to free parking on the Fonner Park Campus and off-site shuttle service during the Nebraska State Fair.
Courtney Glock, marketing director for the Nebraska State Fair, said on-site parking is available at South Locust and State Fair Boulevard, which includes over 4,600 spaces for visitors’ vehicles.
“In addition to the ample parking on the west side of campus, there is additional parking in the Lubbe East Lot at the corner of Fonner Park Road and Stuhr Road,” Glock said. “Trade fair guests who park on site can take a trolley that runs regularly through the parking lots to transport guests from their vehicle to the entrance. We see this as an added convenience for guests of all ages.”
For those who prefer to park off-site, free shuttles from Sam’s Club and Central Community College are available every hour on the hour.
“Our large shuttles provide quick and easy transportation to and from Fonner Park and operate from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., with the exception of extended hours on concert nights,” Glock said. “Our goal is to make the Nebraska State Fair accessible and fun for everyone.”
The Nebraska State Fair has become a beloved tradition that brings communities from across the state together to celebrate agriculture, entertainment and cultural heritage. Glock says this year’s fair promises just that: 11 days of unforgettable experiences.
The 2024 Nebraska State Fair will be held August 23-September 2 at Fonner Park in Grand Island with the theme “All Roads Lead to Fun.” The fair has attracted more than 4 million visitors to Grand Island since 2010.
