Mr. Onigiri is a Snack bar that opened in Beginning of October 2022 along Upper Thomson StreetIt specializes in Onigiri (crab), a Japanese rice ball made of steamed rice that is pressed into a triangle and wrapped in nori Seaweed leaf.

The story behind the food stall began when the owner and his wife traveled to Okinawa a few years ago and fell in love with Onigiri (crab), but couldn’t find any nice or affordable ones in Singapore. So they decided to make their own and started a home-based business in 2021.

How it differs from traditional rice balls is the use of modern fillings, some of which have even been localized. One example is the Otakotak Onigiri (S$5.90) These include Japanese seaweed, Japanese rice, noodles, Spam, Muar otakJapanese cucumber and mentaiko Sauce.

Other Options include Signature Melted Cheesy Crispy Chicken (S$5.90), truffle Aioli Chicken Karaage Onigiri (S$6.90), Twice as delicious, twice as Emily (S$5.90), Japanese Onigiri (S$4.90), fried rice Fried Tofu Onigiri (S$4.90) And Spam with Onigiri (S$3.90).

They sell supplements such as Chicken Karaage (S$5.90), Ebi Tempura (S$3.90), Cheese Fingers (S$4.90) And Crab Cream Croquette (S$4.90).

To wash it all down, there are a number of flower teas such as Baby Owl, Brooklyn Babe, America’s Sweetheart And Magical twist for 3.90S$ If you ever fancy a quick Japanese bite, Mr. Onigiri is the place to go!
