CCTV image released after woman attacked in city centre

Police have launched an appeal for CCTV following the assault on a woman in Nottingham city centre. Officers have released an image of a person they would like to speak to following the attack, which took place in Hurts Yard at around 9.30pm on Tuesday (July 9).

The victim was reportedly grabbed by the hair by a man and a second woman was allegedly threatened by the same person after she intervened during the incident. Hurts Yard is a small row of shops and stores between Upper Parliament Street and Angel Row in the city centre and is a popular destination for local shoppers.

Officers said that as part of their investigation they have reviewed video footage of the incident and conducted further local enquiries and are now able to release an image of a man that may contain important information about the exact incident.

Sergeant Liz Johnson, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This has been a harrowing ordeal for the two women involved and we are doing everything we can to find the person responsible. We have followed a number of lines of inquiry in this investigation and are now appealing for the public’s help. I would ask anyone with information to call us on 101 quoting crime number 24*421575.”
