Determining the Ohio State football team’s offensive ranking in the Big Ten

Ohio State’s football team is the second best team in the country. This is largely due to their incredible defense. They are clearly the best defense in the country. Throwing the ball against the Buckeyes will be a nightmare for their opponents.

Offensively, questions remain. We still don’t know who will start at right guard. Who will start at tight end is still uncertain. The performance of the offensive line in general is still a concern. Ohio State will also have a new starting quarterback. That’s a lot of question marks that need to be answered.

With this in mind, the question is where the Ohio State Buckeyes rank in terms of offense in the Big Ten. Does their second place automatically make them the strongest offensive team? Or are there other teams that can move the ball more consistently and better than them?

Looking at the rest of the conference, Oregon has the best offense. Even though they will have a new starting quarterback, the roster around Dillon Gabriel is a blast. There’s a chance this will be the first time in several years that the Ohio State football team doesn’t have the best receiver in the Big Ten.

Tez Johnson is challenging Emeka Egbuka for the title of the Big Ten’s best receiver. He had nearly 1,200 yards and 10 touchdowns last season. He’s a good player who will keep the Ducks in the game every game this season.

Other than Oregon, there is no other offense I trust more than the Buckeyes. Penn State is probably the closest in terms of talent, but they aren’t really comparable. Ohio State still has more weapons to throw the ball to than the Nittany Lions.

Both Ohio State and Oregon are likely to make it into the college football playoffs. They will face each other on October 12th. The duel will be a bloodbath.
