3 Las Vegas Raiders position groups that could be better than expected in 2024

Las Vegas Raiders training camp has ended, which means it’s time for the 2024 NFL preseason to begin. Las Vegas will open its 2024 preseason against the Minnesota Vikings, and while all eyes will be on the quarterback battle between Aidan O’Connell and Gardner Minshew, other position groups should also be in focus.

Most national experts don’t think this will be a very successful season for the Silver and Black, but all that hubbub won’t matter until the teams actually hit the field in September. While some consider preseason games boring, the truth is that this is where the Raiders’ 53-man roster will take shape before they face their division rival Los Angeles in Week 1.

Last year, interim coach Antonio Pierce led the Raiders to a strong finish and earned the full-time position in the offseason. He has brought a passion back to the franchise that we haven’t seen in a while, and we saw many players step up during training camp, adding to several position groups.

Looking at the roster, the Raiders have a few position groups that could be surprisingly better than anyone expected next season. Here we look at three of them.
