Cleveland Cavaliers are being asked to sign this sharpshooting center

The Cleveland Cavaliers did not sign any free agents this offseason as they spent most of their time handling internal business.

The Cavaliers agreed to contract extensions with Donovan Mitchell, Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen this summer, so it’s not like they’ve been sleeping.

However, Cleveland would benefit considerably from strengthening its roster with a few more players.

The problem is that the free agent market is thin on the ground these days, so if the Cavs are going to sign someone, it has to be a player who fills a specific need.

That’s why Caleb Crowley of King James Gospel is urging the Cavaliers to sign scoring big man Mike Muscala.

Kenny Atkinson knows Muscala from his time with the Atlanta Hawks and it was recently reported that Cleveland management will talk to Atkinson about the possible signing of some players he knows once he returns from Paris.

Muscala didn’t exactly have a great year last season. He played for three different teams in 2023-24, playing for the Washington Wizards, Detroit Pistons and Oklahoma City Thunder. In 53 games, he averaged three points per game with abysmal shooting percentages of 35.9/29.2/68.0.

However, Muscala has already averaged 6.1 points and 3.2 rebounds per night over the past two seasons, making 44.9 percent of his field goals and 39.1 percent of his three-point shots.

The 6-foot-10 center also has a 37.3 percent shooting percentage in his lifetime, and the Cavs could certainly use a big man who can spread the court.

Of course, Muscala isn’t exactly a household name, but if he can put his terrible 2023-24 season behind him, he could prove to be a valuable addition to Atkinson’s Cavaliers.
