Tight end Kamari Morales says his time at Boston College has “exceeded expectations”

During the offseason, the Boston College Eagles football program added ten players from the transfer portal.

One of those new additions was former UNC tight end Kamari Morales.

The 6’3″ and 240-pound offensive lineman spent five seasons with the Tar Heels, appearing in 53 games and recording 67 catches for 761 yards and ten touchdowns.

On Sunday, Morales was asked about his experiences at Chestnut Hill so far and the graduate had only good things to say about it.

“I think it exceeded my expectations,” Morales said. “Especially since we have a new team. This new team has opened my eyes to a different way of seeing the ball. I say that in terms of, for example, before we didn’t huddle. We were never huddled, everything was based on signals. It was just about lining up and playing fast, you didn’t have to think too much, they just wanted you to go out there and honestly, most of the routes were on the turf, you just had to get free.”

The Buck Lake, Florida, native attributed his new way of thinking about the game to having coaches on staff who have NFL experience and bring a professional style to the team.

“But this is a real pro system, so you have to know all kinds of things. You have to know not only your own responsibilities, but the responsibilities of the people around you. Maybe you have to change your route here, maybe you have to block it differently. I think since Coach O’Brien came in, since Coach Will came in, that development has just taken off for me and the team. So yeah, I think it’s exceeded expectations.”
