Apple reportedly rolled back changes to iOS 18’s Photos app in response to user criticism: Here’s what happened – Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL)

Apple Inc. AAPL has decided to Photos App in the coming iOS18 And iPadOS 18after negative feedback from users.

What happened: In the latest weekly “Power On” newsletter Mark Gurman noted that the carousel feature that allowed users to pin specific reminders, albums, or content types has been removed from the latest iOS 18 beta.

“Much of the app has been reorganized in a way that is guaranteed to annoy some users,” he explained, adding, “So perhaps it’s no surprise that Apple removed the new carousel from the latest beta of iOS 18.”

Apple did not immediately respond to Benzinga’s request for comment.

Apple also made the photo grid more user-friendly and moved albums higher up in the app to minimize scrolling, he said.

Additionally, saved content has been moved back to the main photo grid. These changes are being made as Apple finalizes iOS 18 and plans to integrate the software into the upcoming iPhone 16 lineup.

Apple’s decision to roll back design changes to the iOS system is not unprecedented. The company has made changes based on user feedback in the past, even after the initial release announcement.
