Celebrate summer with Kamin Family Free Day!

With barbecues, outdoor activities, and plenty of time with friends and family, Labor Day weekend marks the unofficial end of summer. And what better way to celebrate than with a free day at the Science Center?

Thanks to the generosity of Dan and Carole Kamin, everyone is invited to enjoy free admission to the Science Center on Kamin Family Free Day on Sunday, September 1. Families can explore four floors of exhibits and interactive elements, plus Highmark SportsWorks® and hands-on outdoor activities with MessFest presented by PPG.

Visitors can take part in exciting science experiments in the parking lot outside the Science Center, learn about surface tension with car-length bubbles, watch live demonstrations, and test their coordination with the Super Science Dive Tank.

Other activities include:

• Make squishy slime with chemistry
• Smash strawberries to find the DNA hidden inside
• Use acids and bases to launch a rocket
• Create an artistic fog with Spin Art
• Get your friends wet with environmentally friendly water balloons
• Dance to the beats of local DJs

Activities are included in free general admission and are open to all ages. For an additional fee, visitors can visit “The Science Behind Pixar” exhibit, watch movies at Rangos Giant Cinema and laser shows at Buhl Planetarium, and enjoy snacks at RiverView Café or on-site food trucks.
