The improved MW2 submachine gun is “better than ever” in Warzone Season 5

One of Modern Warfare 2’s most underrated submachine guns is “better than ever” in Warzone after a Season 5 buff, but is still pretty much ignored.

Modern Warfare 2 weapons had a tough time when it came to integrating Warzone into Modern Warfare 3. Sure, some MW2 weapons made their big appearance, but that usually never lasts too long.

Take the RPK with its JAK Cataclysm kit, or even the VEL 46, for example. The LMG became a one-shot sniper rifle, quickly dominated the meta, and then got nerfed. The VEL was highlighted as a top option at the start of Season 5, but has now plummeted quite a bit.

However, if you’re looking to use another MW2 weapon, don’t overlook the Vaznev-9K for much longer. As Warzone guru WhosImmortal points out, the SMG has a TTK comparable to meta options like the Superi 46, Striker 9, and FJX Horus.

The YouTuber added that this makes the submachine gun “better than ever,” even if players miss it. “Once you’ve fully upgraded the thing, its effective damage range is very good for the fastest TTK for a submachine gun. It’s relatively easy to use and has a scope,” he added.

  • Muzzle: ZEHMN35 compensator
  • Barrel: KAS-1 254 mm
  • Lower barrel: Paracord handle
  • Ammunition: 9 mm High Grain
  • Magazine: 45-round magazine

As mentioned, MW2 weapons had a hard time gaining and even maintaining popularity. The Vaznev is one of those that just never made an impression.

This is reflected in WZRanked’s statistics, as it ranks 50th among the most popular firearms in Warzone.

It’s clearly much better than those stats suggest, so give it a try and you’ll be pleasantly surprised. It’s extremely competitive.
