Drake confirmed as new investor in Venezia – Football Italia – August 12

Renowned Canadian artist Drake has officially joined global investment firm APEX and is now an investor in newly promoted Serie A team Venezia.

Recent reports have detailed how Drake was instrumental in helping the club raise around €40 million to maintain its population at the start of the year.

APEX is an investment firm founded in 2021 that specializes in sports, media and entertainment. It also owns shares in the Alpine F1 team and the Bay Golf Club.

Their involvement with Venezia represents a first foray into the world of European football for Drake, who also serves as an ambassador for his beloved NBA franchise, the Toronto Raptors.

APEX confirms Drake is the new Venezia investor

APEX, a leading global investment firm known for its diverse portfolio across sports and entertainment, has joined Venezia FC’s group of new investors through global music icon Drake,” the company confirmed in an official press release.

“This exciting development is part of a broader strategic partnership with several investors joining forces at the Italian Serie A club.

“Drake’s decision to invest in Venezia FC is his first significant foray into European football and underlines his growing interest in the sport. This move will bring a new wave of excitement and international recognition to a club that is growing in importance both on and off the pitch.”

Venezia spent the 2021/22 season in Serie A, their first in exactly 20 years. However, at the end of that season they were relegated in 20th place, having accumulated heavy debts in the process.

After a two-year stay in Serie B, Venezia finally managed to return to the top league in the play-offs at the beginning of June.
