After an outage lasting several hours on Monday that prevented customers from using their debit cards, Regions Bank has confirmed that the problem has been resolved.
Ashley Foster, senior business partner for media relations at Regions, provided the following statement to SuperTalk Mississippi News:
“This morning we were made aware of an issue where debit cards were being declined for certain transactions, including at ATMs. All affected services have now been restored and transactions are processing as normal. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause our customers – and we appreciate the diligence of our technology teams in quickly resolving this.”
Regions, one of the largest deposit holders in Mississippi, worked with Visa to resolve the issue. The bank, headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama, has 126 branches in Mississippi.
