Taste of Glen Ellyn returns to the College of DuPage campus August 15-17

The three-day Taste of Glen Ellyn features more than 15 rides and attractions for all ages.

Due to activity on the downtown streets, Taste of Glen Ellyn will return to the College of DuPage parking lot #6 on the southwest corner of Lambert and College Road in Glen Ellyn Thursday through Saturday, August 15-17.

The three-day, family-friendly event has so far attracted more than 25,000 residents of Glen Ellyn and surrounding communities.

The annual event features a variety of live entertainment, local youth groups, food, cold drinks, business exhibitions and rides. The free event runs from 5pm-10pm on Thursday and Friday and from 12pm-10pm on Saturday.

The main stage opens at Cheap Monarchy on Thursday at 6pm, followed by Hi Infidelity at 8pm.

On Friday, Bad Medicine will open the stage at 6 p.m., followed by headliners Libido Funk Circus at 8 p.m.

On Saturday, local School of Rock will be on stage from 12:00 to 2:30 p.m. Local band Vital Signs returns from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m.

The three-day festival ends with Sealed with a Kiss at 5:30 p.m. and 7th Heaven at 8:00 p.m.

There will be more than 15 rides for all ages including a mini helicopter train, Ferris wheel, slide, Zipper, Predator, Freak Out, fun house and plenty of fairground games.

Carnival tickets are available on-site; no online sales this year. Unlimited rides are available Thursday from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Saturday from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Price is $30 per person per day. Primetime unlimited ride specials are Friday and Saturday from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. for $35.

A portion of the proceeds from the fair and beer tent will benefit the annual scholarship program for local high school students. In addition, grants will be offered to nonprofit members of the Glen Ellyn Chamber. Nonprofits that volunteer to work at the Taste of Glen Ellyn are eligible to receive grants that will be distributed at the Steak Fry event on September 10.

Food vendors include: The Original Barone’s of Glen Ellyn, Buona Beef, Dirty Dough, Jamba, Javi’s Burritos, Lee ‘N Eddies, Lee’s Concessions, Melting Pot, My Cocina, Rainbow Cone and Strawberry Patch.
