It’s going to be a scorching hot summer, perfect for a scoop of ice cream – at least until it melts on your skin.
To remedy the situation, Baskin-Robbins steps in and “ensures” that you can still enjoy a cold treat on a summer day despite the intense heat: August 14th.
On Wednesday, the ice cream brand is launching a one-day promotion called “Melt Insurance,” which will give customers a free scoop of ice cream if they lose a treat due to the sun this summer.

To take advantage of the offer, all it takes for those with a sweet tooth is a few simple steps: First, download the BR app and create an account. Then, add a scoop to your cart and head to your local store for pickup. Enter the promo code MELT before paying and your free scoop should be available at your chosen store within 15 minutes.
And don’t worry: no proof of a melted measuring spoon is required for the replacement.
“Melt Insurance is the coolest way to weather one of the hottest summers on record,” said Jerid Grandinetti, vice president of marketing and culinary at Baskin-Robbins. “We want our customers to be able to enjoy their favorite flavors without worry, knowing that even if their ice cream melts, a delicious scoop is just a few taps away in the BR app.”
The offer is limited to one-time use per customer. And extras such as waffle cones, toppings and ice cream sundaes are not included in the Melt Insurance.
