Wayne County Sheriff arrests Fairfield man on numerous charges

Timothy Hutcheson, 62, of Fairfield was arrested by Wayne County Sheriff’s officers on numerous charges Saturday night. Just after 7 p.m., officers responded to a possible fight in a rural area northeast of Fairfield. When officers arrived, they spoke with a witness who said Hutcheson stopped a vehicle that was driving past his home and began to unbuckle the straps on her trailer. The driver exited the vehicle and Hutcheson charged at the driver to defend himself. Hutcheson then allegedly retrieved a 2-by-4-inch piece of wood and struck the driver of the vehicle, causing the driver to again defend himself. Hutcheson then fled back into the home.

Officers arrived at the Hutchesons’ residence, made contact with Hutcheson, and took him into custody. During the arrest, officers observed Hutcheson attempting to throw away contraband. The item was recovered and field tested positive for methamphetamine. Hutcheson was charged with:

Possession of methamphetamine, aggravated assault, obstruction of justice, and a Wayne County warrant issued in July for aggravated fleeing or eluding a peace officer and trespassing. Hutcheson was transported to Wayne County and arrested.
