Lee Mead presents shocking results of his recent hair transplant live on television

Lee Mead announced the results of his recent hair transplant during his appearance on This Morning on Friday.

The 41-year-old was seen with a fresh buzzcut after undergoing the procedure in Turkey and explained his thoughts on another hair transplant on the show.

Mead underwent the procedure for the first time 15 years ago and said he wanted to boost his “personal confidence” when he decided to have the transplant a second time.

“My first operation was 15 years ago and was called FUT (Follicular Unit Transplant Technique). But nobody knew about it. Then I had my next one,” said the TV star.

“There’s nothing wrong with being bald, but it was receding and that affected my self-confidence a bit.

“Robbie Williams said he wanted one but his hair was getting too thin so I thought I’d do it sooner rather than later.”

Mead, who was previously married to Denise Van Outen, continued: “It’s a question of personal trust.

“The operation took seven hours and you get seven hours of local aesthetic treatment, but you hear everything that’s happening. The team was incredible. I stayed in Turkey for about four days.”

The “Casualty” actor confidently showed off his full hairline on the daytime show and reflected on what his hair looked like before the hair transplant.

“I have never noticed a decline or anything,” replied Alison Hammond, who was accompanied on the show by her co-host Dermot O’ Leary.

Mead shaved off his signature curls specifically for his hair transplant last month, which took place in Istanbul, Turkey.

He informed his followers on Instagram about the procedure during his trip, accompanied by a friend.

According to the NHS, hair transplants cost between £1,000 and £30,000.

Mead’s second transplant came after he revealed he had not made any money in 2020 due to the pandemic, as theater and cruise ship appearances booked for him were canceled.

The multi-talented star recalled the “stressful” year, telling The Sun: “It was very stressful, I’m not going to lie, but my family and my partner Izzy were an incredible support.”

“They picked me up and helped me through this time. I don’t want to sound ungrateful because we are healthy and safe and I managed to keep my home.”
