Drake confirms speculation about Serena Williams with a song confession

Drake has finally confirmed that his 2016 song “Too Good” was inspired by his ex-girlfriend Serena Williams.
The 37-year-old rapper was already in a relationship with the tennis superstar from 2010 to 2015 and has now said that his and Rihanna’s 2016 song is about him and the 42-year-old star.
Drake has released some archival footage and in one video he can be seen talking to his mother Sandi Graham in a recording studio and confirming that “Too Good” is about Serena.
When Sandi asked Drake if he alludes to his past romances in his songs, he said, “I roll a few joints, but this is more about me and Serena.”
Sandi replied, “That’s what I thought.”
Drake stressed to his mother that Serena wouldn’t “hate” him for the song – which is about being “too good” for one lover – because it is “lighthearted.”
He said: “When I write songs about women, I also write songs for them so I know what kind of songs to write.
“If I talk about them, I’ll at least do them justice by singing them a song they like, okay?
“I know Serena very well and I know she will hear it loud and clear, but she won’t hate me for it either because it’s lighthearted.”
Drake’s mother then reminded her son that Serena is “seeing someone else,” to which he jokingly replied, “I don’t know, mom.”
Sandi’s allusion may be a reference to Serena’s current husband Alexis Ohanian.
She started dating the 41-year-old entrepreneur in 2015 and they married in 2017.
The couple have two daughters together: Olympia (6) and Adira (11 months).
Drake used to be a regular at Serena’s tennis matches and in 2011 he tweeted her: “@SerenaWilliams I can’t wait to put this on you and make you sweat… during our match this weekend.”
