Cornell student jailed for anti-Semitic threats – Finger Lakes Daily News

The Cornell University student who admitted to posting deadly threats of violence against Jews on the Ivy League campus online last October was sentenced in a central New York courtroom on Monday.

Patrick Dai will spend the next 21 months in prison. The 10 months he has already served will not be counted.

Dai, who is from the town of Pittsford in Monroe County, could have received a prison sentence of 27 to 33 months, but the judge took into account the 21-year-old’s autism diagnosis, mental health issues and lack of violent or criminal activity when sentencing him.

Last fall, Dai posted messages in the Cornell section of an online discussion site calling for the death of Jews. One post read, “We’re going to raid 104 West.” 104 West is a dining hall at Cornell University that serves mostly kosher food and is located next to the Cornell Jewish Center.

In April, he pleaded guilty to making a threat through interstate communications.
