Who do the Brooklyn Nets get with the number 1 pick?

The Brooklyn Nets have received their own 2025 draft pick back from the Houston Rockets, putting them at the forefront of the race for Cooper Flagg’s top pick.

Jonathan Wasserman, draft analyst at Bleacher Report, conducted a mock draft after the Olympics ended and sent Flagg to the Nets with the No. 1 overall pick.

“His identity revolves around two-way versatility and athleticism, but the gradual, consistent development on the ball he has shown has raised the bar and his theoretical ceiling,” Wasserman writes. “He will essentially perform and impact games simply by utilizing his special physical skills, IQ, signature defensive instincts and motor. But it’s his burgeoning creativity, pick-and-roll ball-handling and shot variety that will propel Flagg to the No. 1 spot and make him an NBA superstar.”

There are other candidates for the first pick like Dylan Harper, Ace Bailey and VJ Edgecombe, but it’s hard to be disappointed if the Nets got Flagg first in the draft.

Flagg was at his best after appearing on the US National Team Select Team before the Olympics and seemed to be one of the better players on the training team.

Now he’ll be in the spotlight for a full season in Duke’s college league before moving on to the NBA, possibly the Nets.
