The best time to visit Montana is in the fall because peak season is over, kids are back in school, and the weather can stay amazing long after fall officially begins. Montana hosts some of the coolest events in the state during the fall, and they’re well worth a getaway.
For the sake of argument: The official start of autumn this year is Sunday, September 22, 2024, 06:43 a.m.according to the Old Farmer’s Almanac. Fall in Montana is interesting, to say the least. It can be one of the most beautiful, colorful, and peaceful seasons, lasting for weeks – or it can literally last just 4 days before winter sets in.
Some of our suggested events take place before the official start of fall, but you get what we mean. Having real Montana fun with fewer people is so much fun. This is what we locals live for. Try something new. Visit a small town you’ve never seen before. Enjoy Montana for real.
