School employee allegedly posed as parent on classroom social media app to contact ex-girlfriend

CARLISLE COUNTY, Ky. (KFVS) – A western Kentucky school employee was arrested Wednesday night on warrants accusing him of harassment and forgery.

Authorities with the Carlisle County Sheriff’s Office said they learned on Aug. 7 of an incident that occurred last Friday in which Terrell Stacey Harper, a McCracken County Public Schools employee, posed as the parent of a Carlisle County School District student and created a fake profile on a classroom social media app called “Class Dojo.”

Class Dojo is an interactive app that allows students, teachers and parents to share classroom-related information.

According to the sheriff’s office, the fake profile was created so Harper could contact his ex-girlfriend, who is a teacher at Carlisle Co. School.

After further investigation, it was discovered that Harper had used the name of a fake student, but used his real name as the name of the student’s parent. An email address linked to Harper was also used to create the account.

Investigators also found that Harper sent his ex-girlfriend mail and packages several times a week, created numerous social media and dating profiles posing as her, messaged numerous people, and posted photos of her.

The McCracken County Sheriff’s Office arrested Harper on Wednesday after warrants were issued in Carlisle County. He was taken into custody without incident in Paducah around 5:30 p.m.

Harper was charged with harassing communications (misdemeanor) and second-degree forgery (class D felony).

The Sheriff’s Office also found that Harper was convicted and sentenced to prison on four separate counts between 2011 and 2014 for violating the State of Kentucky’s Emergency Protective Order (EPO) and Domestic Violence Order (DVO).

The investigation is still ongoing.
