Top Ohio State freshman receives hilarious description from teammate

When you think of the Ohio State Buckeyes’ receivers for 2024, the first two names that probably come to mind are Jeremiah Smith and Emeka Egbuka.

However, there is another talent who could cause a surprise in Columbus this season: true freshman receiver Mylan Graham.

Graham was the ninth-ranked wide receiver in the 2024 recruiting class and the 39th-ranked player overall. He was a four-star recruit out of New Haven High School in Indiana and has some pretty great athleticism that is already impressing his new teammates at Ohio State.

In fact, Carnell Tate, a second-year receiver for the Buckeyes, provided a pretty comical description of the potential rising star.

“Mylan is going to be good,” Tate said of On3’s Andy Backstrom. “He’s got the momentum. He can do anything. He just got here. So there’s just going to be a lot of pressure coming at him and stuff like that.”

The “wobbling”, eh?

“When he’s relaxed, pull up the ropes,” Tate added. “He’s going to be really good.”

Tate himself understands Graham’s position, as he made his debut for Ohio State last season and recorded 18 catches for 264 yards and a touchdown.

Bigger things are expected of Tate in 2024, but perhaps Graham can make a bigger impact right away than Tate did at the start of his own college career.

We’ll see if Graham can establish himself as a real threat on the Buckeyes’ offense later this month. Ohio State begins its regular season on August 31st with a game against Akron.
