2 Fort Wayne men charged in connection with 2023 rape

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) – Two Fort Wayne men were charged Tuesday in connection with a 2023 rape.

Elder Quevedo Rosales, 29, and Selvin Perez Munoz, 18, each face one count of rape. The charge carries a maximum sentence of 16 years in prison.

The victim was on her way home from a comedy show at Parkview Field with her friends in June of last year when they were picked up by two unknown men, according to an affidavit filed by Fort Wayne Police Detective Jean Gigli. They drove to the victim’s residence and then to an unknown house.

Afterwards, the victim told the police, she was raped.

After the attack, the men escorted the victim back to their SUV and drove around with her in the back seat, court documents show. During the drive, the men allegedly said they were going to kill her.

She then opened the door, jumped out of the moving vehicle and ran to several homes for help before going to a gas station on East Pettit Avenue, where she called police.

DNA swabs from a rape kit came back this month and linked Perez Munoz to the case.

Both men are expected to appear for an initial hearing in the case on Wednesday morning.
