El Paso launches “Be POWERflu” campaign with free flu shots and events

Two El Paso organizations have partnered to provide free flu shots to Borderland residents as part of the city’s “Be POWERflu” campaign.

The City of El Paso Health Department and the El Paso Fire Department announced Tuesday the launch of the “Be POWERflu” campaign, which will provide free flu shots to anyone 6 months of age and older at the city’s four community clinics.

El Paso residents can get vaccinated for free at any of the city’s four community clinics, without an appointment and regardless of their insurance status.

The clinics are open Monday to Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with a one-hour lunch break from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.

The El Paso Community Clinics are located at the following locations:

  • Westside, 7380 Remcon
  • Henderson, 721 S. Mesa St.
  • Northeast, 9566 Railway
  • Lower Valley, 9341 Alameda

In the meantime, the city will be working with local organizations over the next few weeks to host “Be POWERflu” pop-up events, including:

18.August

  • Drive-Thru Wellness Event: Vaccinate your pet + vaccinate yourself! from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at 6500 Bonanza

24.August

  • 3K Run or Walk: Celebrate Live Active El Paso from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Marty Robins Park
