During the Made by Google event where the Pixel Watch 3 was introduced, the price of the Pixel Watch 2 dropped from the original $349 to $249.
The Pixel Watch 2 was a strong wearable last year. It has a battery that often lasts a day, a clean operating system in Wear OS, and really great hardware. In fact, the Pixel Watch 3 carries over many of the same design elements and overall look. On the other hand, the Pixel Watch 2 didn’t exactly take any major design risks compared to the original.
While the Pixel Watch 3 is now available for pre-order, the price of the Pixel Watch 2 has dropped significantly on Google’s website, from $349 for the Wi-Fi version to $249. The new version carries over the original price of the Watch 2, meaning Google hasn’t increased the price year-over-year.
The only real differences between the two are minor changes in the display, battery, and certain features. The new Pixel Watch 3 offers a running workout builder and places more emphasis on cardio workouts. However, the Pixel Watch 2 has automatic workouts and heart rate zones for a good workout experience. The Pixel Watch 3 is also available in a 45mm version.
Other than that, both watches are made of the same material, offer the same health data, and measure the same sleep statistics.
The Pixel Watch 2 is still a great watch in 2024, and the $100 discount makes this deal harder to pass up if you’re looking to upgrade from the original Pixel Watch or another Wear OS wearable. Google’s website allows users to trade in another device to get even more out of the Pixel Watch 2.
