Watch Ja’Lynn Polk catch an incredible deep pass from Drake Maye in practice – NBC Sports Boston

New England Patriots fans hope that the connection between Drake Maye and Ja’Lynn Polk will be productive for the next five to seven years (at least).

And they got a little preview of what might be possible when the Patriots and Philadelphia Eagles practice together at Gillette Stadium on Tuesday.

One of the first drills involved 1-on-1 work between wide receivers and cornerbacks.

Polk was up against Eagles cornerback Shon Stephens, and the Patriots rookie wideout not only stayed one step ahead of his defender, but also caught a pretty good long ball from Maye with a fantastic catch.

Check out the game in the video below:

Here is another angle of the game:

The Patriots selected Maye with the No. 3 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. They selected Polk 34 picks later in the second round. It’s been a while since the Patriots have had a strong QB-WR duo. You have to go back to Tom Brady and Julian Edelman’s last season together in 2019.

Maye and Polk still have a long way to go before they reach the top half of the league’s QB-WR duos, but for the first time in several years, Patriots fans have reason to be excited about the future of these two important positions.
