Gas prices in the New England region have fallen since last week: Here’s how much

According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration, regional gasoline prices fell for the second week in a row, reaching an average price of $3.43 per gallon of regular gasoline on Monday, down from the previous week’s price of $3.46 per gallon.

The average fuel price in the New England region has fallen by about 7 cents since last month. According to the EIA, gasoline prices across the region last year were as low as $3.07 on January 22, 2024, and as high as $3.78 on August 21, 2023.

A year ago, the average price of gasoline in the New England region was $3.75 per gallon, an increase of 9 percent.

The average price of gasoline in the United States last week was $3.45, putting prices in the New England region about 0.7 percent below the national average. The average national price of gasoline is down from last week’s average of $3.48 per gallon.

Prices in the New England states, as determined by the U.S. Energy Information Administration, include Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont.
