On Monday evening, August 12, a fire broke out in the 100 block of Naden Avenue South.

Firefighters extinguished a fire at a vacant home in the 100 block of Naden Avenue South near West Meeker Street in Kent on Monday evening, August 12.

“There have been two other fires at this home in the last six months,” Puget Sound Fire Department spokesman Pat Pawlak said in an Aug. 13 email.

At about 9:24 p.m., firefighters were dispatched to the fire east of State Route 167. Pawlak said it took about an hour to extinguish the fire. Fifteen firefighters responded.

The cause of the fire is currently being investigated, Pawlak said.

There have been activities by homeless people in this house in the past, said Pawlak.
