Disney’s T23 – The wonderful world of dreams The Ultimate Fan Event has come to an end and has some very exciting star Wars Revelations and first insights. Lucasfilm and star Wars was heavily represented alongside all of Disney’s biggest studios and franchises. In addition to new reveals about new films and upcoming shows, there was also plenty to enjoy and experience on the exhibition floor.

After attending the big Disney Convention, Screen Rant had the opportunity to visit D23’s Lucasfilm Pavilion, one of the largest installations in the entire Anaheim Convention Center. We also had seats for all of the biggest reveals and events at the Honda Center, where every night we got to experience and celebrate new projects, experiences, and some of the biggest stars from the galaxy far, far away. For this purpose, here are 10 of the biggest and best star Wars Things we saw and learned at D23.

10 Revelations about the new Star Wars film and series

Mandalorian & Grogu, Andor Season 2 and Skeleton Crew

Friday, August 9th, was D23’s big night at the Honda Center, where new films and series were presented, including star Wars. First, Jude Law took the stage to present the very first trailer for skeletoncrew shortly before it was released online. Diego Luna soon followed and revealed an exclusive first look at Andor Season 2, with the growing rebellion before the events of Villain One and exciting character returns such as Saw Gerrera (Forest Whitaker) and director Krennic (Ben Mendelsohn).


Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau from Lucasfilm also took the stage to talk about their work on The Mandalorian and Grogu film that had just begun, while also showing an exclusive first look at new footage. Shows the return of a new Razor Crest after the destruction of the first in The Mandalorian In Season 2, Din Djarin and his adopted son Grogu are seen flying the New Republic’s Zeb before battling a platoon of former Imperial Snowtroopers. The duo are also seen riding what appears to be an old AT-RT before facing two Imperial AT-AT walkers on a snow-covered planet that could well be Hoth.

The Mandalorian and Grogu come to Smuggler’s Run


On Saturday, August 10, D23’s Experiences Showcase took place, where an exciting new addition to Disneyland’s Galaxy’s Edge was unveiled. Back on stage to talk about Disney’s experiences at Epic Games and Fortnite (including star Wars), Filoni added that he and Favreau are consulting with Imagineers to add the Mandalorian and Grogu to Smugger’s Run, The Millennium Falconinspired ride at Galaxy’s Edge. New concept art was revealed showing Djarin and Grogu outside the Falcons Cockpit next to the arriving TIE Fighters. Therefore, it will certainly be exciting to experience new adventures beyond the star Wars Original narrative of the trip.

On Sunday, August 11, the Honda Center celebrated the Disney Legends inductees of the class of 2024. Notable among these were Harrison Ford, whose award was presented by Disney CEO Bob Iger, Frank Oz, whose award was presented by Pixar’s Pete Docter, and John Williams, who was presented by Ford and Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy. While Williams was unable to attend and accept the award in person, the Pacific Symphony Orchestra played a medley of his most famous scores. star Wars And Indiana Jones.

At the Anaheim Convention Center, D23 guests were able to visit the Lucasfilm Pavilion, where several presentations were held each day. Each presentation took place in front of The Volume, the large sound stage that is part of Industrial Light and Magic’s groundbreaking StageCraft technology, which was also used in the filming of The Mandalorian and more star Wars projects. Guests were also informed that the same technicians who worked on The Volume at D23 were on the set of The Mandalorian & Grogu as soon as the fan event was over.

The Volume was not only used in the various presentations, but the guests were also able to listen to classical star Wars locations between shows. The 10-second clips were then emailed to each guest, making The Volume one of the most expensive Disney Photopass venues in history. So naturally, it was one of the most visited installations at the entire convention, where guests could get as close as actors to visiting the galaxy far, far away.


6 Manny Jacinto from The Acolyte and Vanessa Marshall from Rebels came to D23

Review of live action and animation shows

Some of the above Lucasfilm presentations included The Acolyte Actor Manny Jacinto, who played Qimir aka The Stranger. In conversation with The Kristin Baver, Jacinto, revealed concept art with alternate designs for the Stranger’s helmet. He also detailed his intensive training for the show’s stunts and fight choreography, taking inspiration from Anakin Skywalker actor Hayden Christensen and his similar dedication.

The Lucasfilm Pavilion also hosted a conversation between Lucasfilm Animation producer Athena Portillo and Hera Syndulla voice actress Vanessa Marshall. Looking back at the various animated star Wars shows, Portrillo and Marshall chose some of their favorite moments from each project. As a bonus/honorable mention, they also shared their favorite moments with Hera.


5 Lucasfilm presented droids and creatures from Star Wars

Droids, Ugnaughts and Loth-Cats (Oh dear!)

The Lucasfilm pavilion featured exciting life-size replicas of creatures and droids. Ahsoka’s Professor Huyang (David Tennant) and SM-33, co-pilot of The Onyx Ash which will soon be seen in Skeleton Crew (voiced by Nick Frost). A life-size model of The Mandalorians Ugnaught named Kuiil was also on display near the entrance of the pavilion. However, one of Lucasfilm’s presentations specifically showed the models, including how Lucasfilm Star Wars Rebels’ From Loth cats to live action through impressive puppetry.


4 Galaxy’s Edge BDX droids with Disney Imagineers

At the Imagineering: Behind the Dreams pavilion Screen Rant got to see an impressive BDX unit up close, one of the few droids recently seen walking around Galaxy’s Edge and interacting with park visitors. The trio of BDX droids created by Disney Imagineering are incredibly expressive, adorable, and full of personality. They are also capable of self-correcting their balance and gait, according to Imagineers, and they could be seen hopping and bobbing their heads as they greeted nearby guests, expressing a variety of different emotions.

3 Disney presented the lightsaber box set “The Chosen One” at D23

From Anakin Skywalker to Darth Vader


Shopping was simply exclusive and exciting for guests at D23. This included the premiere of Disney’s brand new Chosen One Legacy Lightsaber Box Set, which contains three Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader lightsabers. Not only does the box play music when opened, but the inside of the lid also features quotes from Attack of the Clones, Revenge of the Sith, And Obi Wan Kenobimatching each of the impressive handles. At D23, the box set was selling for $550, although it is unknown when or if the Chosen One set will eventually appear on ShopDisney.com.

2 Star Tours’ Starspeeder 3000 Playset

Inspired by the original Star Tours ride at Disneyland, the Star Tours StarSpeeder 3000 Limited Edition Vehicle Playset was another incredible exclusive at D23. Featuring R2-D2 and Captain RX-24, the playset featured lights and sounds and even played the original attraction on screen before the ride was updated to visit new worlds around the world star Wars Galaxy. The Star Tours StarSpeeder 3000 Vehicle Playset retailed at D23 for $300 and was on sale online on August 12 (but has since sold out).

1 There were some great Star Wars cosplays at D23

Incredible work and dedication


Some really great cosplayers came to D23, including those who shared their love for star Wars. Some costumes were incredibly accurate, such as AndyJMeza’s Mandalorian armor or the duo Costumed_chameleon and LuciferBob who performed as Asajj Ventress and Quinlan Vos. Others were more creative, such as disneybunhead who created a custom Mandalorian armor inspired by Raya and the Last Dragonor the whole group of cosplayers who came to D23 as Sith versions of classic Disney characters like Snow White and The Little Mermaid. star Wars The cosplay presence was quite large, especially at the gathering scheduled for this Friday in front of the Anaheim Convention Center.
