Richmond County joins SRP High School Affinity Debit Card Program

Richmond County High School alumni have a new way to show their pride in and raise money for the school.

SRP Federal Credit Union has enrolled all 11 high schools in Richmond County (including magnet schools) in its High School Affinity Debit Card Program.

Each school has designed its own card, which new and existing checking account holders can apply for. Every time someone uses their card, SRP donates a set amount to the selected school. Each school can use these donations however they wish.

“It’s always exciting when schools participate in the High School Affinity Debit Card program. It’s a wonderful way for our members to raise money for the high school of their choice simply by using their High School Affinity Debit Card,” SRP CEO Eric Jenkins said in a press release. “Since launching the program in 2018, SRP has donated nearly $2 million to schools in our community. We look forward to working with the Richmond County School System to quickly expand the program and begin providing financial support to high schools.”

High schools in Aiken, Barnwell, Burke and Columbia counties, as well as private and charter schools such as Augusta Christian Schools and Curtis Baptist Schools, are already participating in the program.

Those who apply for the program at an SRP branch can have their card printed on-site. For more information, visit srpfcu.org.
