The Kossuth County Highway Department wanted to bring to the Board’s attention an issue it does not want to be involved in. According to Kossuth County Engineer Doug Miller, his department is involved in an issue with contractors.
Miller was concerned about what the concerned repair district trustees thought about the situation.
When a contractor bids on the project, Miller says he should have all the materials needed to complete the project.
Miller explained that county trustees should be notified because they would receive a bill from the county for the materials used. This could be a concern for trustees and landowners because they would receive additional bills from the county road department.
The Board agreed that the Contractor is required to contact the Trustees if there are any problems with a project.
