Children are admitted free to the Brevard Zoo this September.

The zoo, which has been recognized as one of the best in the country, is expanding its offerings to children up to 11 years old. The non-profit zoo is home to more than 800 animals from all over the world.

We have details on how you can take advantage of the offer at the Brevard Zoo next month.

How children get free admission to the Brevard Zoo

The offer is valid for children aged 11 and under.

To receive free admission, the child must be accompanied by a paying adult who is a Florida resident. Up to three children may accompany one paying adult.

Adults must present a government-issued photo ID or utility bill with address and matching photo ID.

The offer cannot be combined with other discounts or memberships.

When do children get free admission to the Brevard Zoo?

The offer starts on September 1st and runs until September 30th.

What does the Brevard Zoo have to offer?

For the past five years, the Brevard Zoo has been ranked among the top 10 zoos in the country by USA Today 10Best.

Guests can feed giraffes, walk among kangaroos, take a train ride through exhibits and other experiences. In addition to daily admission, the zoo also offers summer camps, home and preschool education and family experiences.

The Brevard Zoo, located near Viera just east of Interstate 95, is celebrating its 30th anniversary. Planned events include festivities on April 30.th each month until the opening of a permanent lion enclosure at Expedition Africa later this year. The area offers guests a glimpse of the zoo’s three lions in an enriching habitat.

Also in the planning stages is the new Port Canaveral Aquarium. The facility will include a manatee rehabilitation center to treat sick and ailing manatees, and the Dr. Duane De Freese Coastal Conservation Hub, a three-story building with laboratories where university researchers and students will study the Indian River Lagoon.

What you need to know about visiting the Brevard Zoo

The zoo is open from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., last entry is at 3:30 p.m.

Adult tickets are $32.95. Senior tickets 65 and older are $27.95.

Bringing food and drinks from outside the zoo is not permitted.

There is a splash area for toddlers, so you may want to pack a swimsuit and swim diapers.
