New Girl and Elf star Zooey Deschanel has unveiled a brand new hairstyle.
The actress and singer is known for her darker locks, which often led to her being mistaken for Katy Perry, but now she’s debuting a new blonde style that’s very reminiscent of Reese Witherspoon.
Deschanel uploaded two photos of her new hairstyle to Instagram and wrote: “Who is she?”

In the comments, fans compared her to Farrah Fawcett, Dolly Parton and a young Jane Fonda, while many people pointed out that her character Jovie from Elf is also blonde.
Elf was one of Deschanel’s first major roles before she landed her starring role in a sitcom. Another film she starred in before New Girl that was less well-received was The Happening.
“(The Happening) was far from popular!” she admitted last year. “The director, M. Night Shyamalan – Night – had a strong vision and we all tried to do what he wanted.”
“I trusted him because he’s a great filmmaker. I didn’t know it until I saw the film, but I think he wanted a stylized horror like ‘The Birds’ and maybe people didn’t understand that. I had a blast working with Night and Mark Wahlberg, but even though I’ve done serious dramas before, I’m not sure thrillers are for me. I enjoy working on comedies the most.”

Deschanel hasn’t starred in many major projects in a while, and her fans have been demanding that she reprise the role of Jess in a New Girl sequel. In a recent interview, she stated that she would consider it.
“I definitely had a wonderful time and would love to see the show again,” she said. “It kind of depends on the circumstances. I don’t want to spend the rest of my life doing remakes.”
