Nickelodeon will again broadcast a CBS NFL Wild Card game in January, according to a press release Wednesday.
This is the sixth NFL game to be alternately broadcast by Nickelodeon and the third in the Wild Card round. Nickelodeon also aired alternate broadcasts of Super Bowl LVIII and the Christmas Day games in 2022 and 2023.
Details on the actual Nickelodeon broadcast are still scarce, with more information to come in the future. All games so far have been commentated by Noah Eagle and Nate Burleson, with various Nickelodeon stars (among others) joining the pair.
The games also featured Nickelodeon-centric graphics, including lots of slime and animated characters from Nickelodeon shows.
Nickelodeon also airs a weekly NFL show called NFL Slime Timehosted by Burleson. It has not yet been announced whether or not the show will return for the 2024 season, which would be its fourth broadcast.
There was little doubt that Paramount would continue to rely on alternate broadcasts on Nickelodeon this season, even if there is no game on Christmas Day. For the past few seasons, Paramount has gone all out and aired a Wild Card game, and the company has obviously been successful enough with that strategy to continue down that path.
