Prince Harry and Meghan will visit Colombia for the first time. Here’s what they’ll do

BOGOTA, Colombia — BOGOTA, Colombia (AP) — Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan, will arrive in Colombia on Thursday at the invitation of Vice President Francia Márquez, where they will participate in several events, including a forum against cyberbullying, the Colombian vice president’s office said Wednesday.

The couple, who are in the South American country for the first time, will attend several events in the capital Bogotá on Thursday and Friday before heading to Cartagena and Cali in the Caribbean and Colombian Pacific respectively, where they are expected to spend the weekend.

Events surrounding the couple’s visit will begin on Thursday with a press conference by Márquez, Colombia’s first black vice president, where she is expected to provide more details about the purpose of Harry and Meghan’s visit. The statement did not indicate whether the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will make any statements.

Harry and Meghan will also visit a school in Bogotá, where they will “interact directly with students exploring the digital landscape and its impact on society,” the statement added.

They will also participate in a forum on “Promoting Safe Digital Environments” organized by the Vice Presidency of Colombia in collaboration with Harry and Meghan’s non-profit organization, Archewell Foundation.

“The Forum will address the urgent need for responsible technological practices, particularly in developing countries where the negative impacts of technology are felt disproportionately,” the statement continued.

Details of the agenda for Saturday and Sunday will be announced later, the vice president’s office said. ___
