Playlist artwork app “Denim” receives extensive update with new editor

Denim is a cool iPhone app that allows users to create unique artwork for their playlists. In the last few weeks, the app has received some major updates that have made this process even more fun and intuitive, and expanded the possibilities even further. Read on to learn more about what’s new with Denim.

What’s new in Denim 3

As I already mentioned here on 9to5MacDenim is a powerful app that provides tools for creating and customizing cover artwork for playlists. At launch, the app already had more than 50 artwork styles for users to choose from. With the new editor, there are now even more style options, as well as other useful new features.

One of the highlights of Denim 3 is the brand new editor that allows users to add texts, change the typography and move them freely, making the graphics even more unique and better reflecting the user’s personality.

The app now suggests graphics based on the artists the user listens to most on Apple Music (and of course, to do this, they have to link their account to the app). These graphics are based on each artist’s featured image on Apple Music, and they even blend the text in with the photo. It’s a pretty cool effect to play around with.

In addition, artwork is now synced to your other devices via iCloud. There are even more improvements available in the latest version, including:

  • The Playlists and Settings tabs have been merged into a simplified app layout.
  • Tap the plus button and Denim will automatically select your most recent playlist.
  • Create covers without connecting an Apple Music account.
  • Tapping on a work of art now takes you directly to the editor.
  • Drag to adjust the text size and rotate to adjust the angle.
  • Undo & Redo: Undo all changes in the editor
  • Denim is now optimized for iPhone SE

Denim is available for free on the App Store, but to unlock all the artwork styles, a $5.99 in-app purchase is required. You don’t need to be an Apple Music subscriber to use Denim, although the app works best with one.
