For New England Patriots rookie quarterback Drake Maye, it all started as a dream in front of a television screen while playing EA’s football game Madden NFL.

So for Maye, it was a full-circle moment when he found himself in the game for the first time. Who would have ever thought that the child playing the game would one day actually be in it?

Maye, who was drafted out of North Carolina, was selected by the Patriots with the No. 3 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.

“I’ve been gaming my whole life and am excited to officially join the @Patriots in #Madden25 today,” Maye posted on social media.

First, Maye’s overall rating will be improved, which currently stands at 74.

That’s a fair number for a rookie quarterback who isn’t expected to be a starter in his first season, but there’s a strong possibility that number will be drastically different in the future as Maye continues to learn and develop behind the scenes.

There is hope that he will improve and take the Patriots’ ailing offense forward.
