Horrible “We live in time” horse becomes an instant meme

A24 has released a new advertising image for We live in timea decades-long romance with Florence Pugh And Andrew Garfield. It also apparently features a terrifying carousel horse with googly eyes, which quickly took the spotlight and became a new internet meme.

We live in time follows the relationship between Almut (Pugh) and Tobias (Garfield) from their first meeting to falling in love and starting a family together. The drama is told in snapshots from their lives and seems to aim for a touching tone, as the couple supports each other through career moves and health problems.

As such, We live in timeThe latest promotional photo from appears to show a relatively early moment in their relationship, with Pugh and Garfield laughing and enjoying a romantic carousel ride. But in what is either a brilliant marketing gimmick or a gross oversight, the happy couple are completely overshadowed by the demonic visage of the carousel horse next to them.

In the lower left corner of the photo, the satanic steed’s bulging, soulless eye and gaping mouth demand the viewer’s attention, preventing us from mindlessly enjoying Pugh and Garfield pretending to be in love. Caught in what I can only interpret as a silent scream, the tormented pony almost seems to break the fourth wall by staring directly at the viewer.

Social media users immediately focused on We live in times disturbing steed, who happily pulled out his photo editing software. The hell horse quickly went viral and inspired numerous memes, with people inserting it into other movies or putting it over Garfield and Pugh’s heads. Even Late Show Moderator Stephen Colbert commented on the tortured horse.

“Listen, I’m going to say what we’re all thinking.” Colbert joked during his monologue on Wednesday night. “This pony is totally on ketamine.”

It is unclear whether this sinister stallion previously existed in the wild or was created specifically for We live in time by a set designer who missed his calling as an artist. While the film was being shot in London, the horses were on The famous Golden Carousel on the South Bank look more colorful and less like they are eating your soul.

We live in time and his terrible horse will be in cinemas on October 11th.
