Repair crews deployed in response to renewed water outages in West Clare

Due to recent water outages in the region, Uisce Eireann has deployed experienced repair teams to West Clare.

The service disruptions affect Miltown Malbay, Spanish Point, Quilty, Mullagh, Coore, Cooraclare, Mullagh and surrounding areas.

The cause of the problem is a burst water main. The utility company expects to complete repairs by 5:00 p.m. today. A traffic management plan will be in effect throughout.

After repairs are completed, it usually takes two to three hours for normal service to be fully restored in all areas as water needs to replenish the network, particularly in higher elevation areas.

Darragh Conneely of Uisce Éireann says every effort is being made to complete the repairs as quickly as possible.

“We understand the inconvenience of an unplanned outage and thank customers for their support while our teams work to restore normal water service to all of our customers as quickly as possible.”

We will send direct notifications to vulnerable customers registered with Uisce Éireann about planned and unplanned outages lasting longer than four hours.

Uisce Éireann continues to provide detailed, up-to-date and local information on water issues at www.water.ie (reference number CLA00081564).
