A letter from an EASA member company nominating John Allen for this award states: “Many of our members’ staff have received training from him in a variety of areas, but he has been most involved in the repair of Ex engines. Not only in terms of training and technical advice, but also in the design and updating of the EASA training course on Ex repairs.”
Elsewhere it said: “His commitment to technical perfection and continuous improvement is legendary and his knowledge is unmatched. He has spent many days and weekends each year working for our association and assisting our members on a wide range of technical topics. The spirit of dedication and willingness to share and educate other members is the true spirit of this association.”
Elsewhere it said: “Over the years I have had numerous encounters with him where I have been able to leverage his expertise to solve critical problems and develop solutions that keep engines and generators running.”
And finally: “He has always been passionate about the repair industry and is always happy to help solve problems that arise that we could not solve on our own.”
