The musical comedy “Book of Mormon” comes to the Ohio Theatre from October 8 to 13

“The Book of Mormon,” which drew crowds when it opened in Columbus in 2018, returns to the Ohio Theatre by popular demand for eight performances Oct. 8-13.

The irreverent musical comedy follows two zealous young missionaries from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to a remote Ugandan village where they try to preach their faith to the locals.

“The Book of Mormon” features a book, music and lyrics by “South Park” creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone, as well as “Avenue Q” co-creator Robert Lopez.

In addition to nine Tony Awards, including Best Musical and the Grammy Award for Best Musical Album, the show has won five Drama Desk Awards, four Outer Critics Circle Awards, the NY Drama Critics Circle Award for Best Musical, and the Drama League Award for Best Musical, among others.
