Pilot Travel Center in Mt. Pleasant donates ,000 to school district

The Pilot Travel Center in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, is ready to welcome travelers with a fresh look and improved amenities after an extensive renovation.

The remodel is part of Pilot’s $1 billion-plus store modernization initiative, New Horizons. To celebrate, Pilot is donating $10,000 to the Mt. Pleasant Community School District to fund the TAG, SEAL and Summer Enrichment science and engineering programs for middle school students.

“We are excited to introduce our newly renovated travel center to the Mt. Pleasant community and the travelers we serve every day,” said Allison Cornish, senior vice president of store modernization and development at Pilot. “We continue to listen to our guests’ feedback and strive to make their travel experiences easier and more enjoyable.”

New features at the travel center at 1300 N Grand Ave. include:

• Remodeled Arby’s and Cinnabon

• Modernized toilets and showers

• Modernized professional driver lounge

• Three new self-checkouts for a more convenient shopping experience

• Modernized public laundry facilities
