Larry Wayne “Coach” Mikesell, 77, of Perryopolis, passed away Monday, August 12, 2024. He was born September 18, 1946 in Latrobe to Albert M. and Helen V. Thomas Mikesell.
He was preceded in death by his sister Judith Semplak, his brother Thomas Mikesell, his niece Wanda Longo and his stepmother Patricia Mikesell.
Larry was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh and Penn State University.
He was a teacher in the Frazier School District for 38 years, where he coached basketball for 33 years and golf for over 30 years.
Larry is survived by his stepsister Sherry Humbertson, his niece Connie (Rodger) Cornett, his nephew-in-law Randy Longo, his great-nieces and nephews Shelby L. (Colin), August (Genesis) Longo, Shannon Cornett and Christopher Cornett, and his great-grandnieces and nephews Violet Van Amerongen, Jacob Cornett and Alexander Van Amerongen.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 17th at 10 a.m. at St. Nicholas Cemetery in Perryopolis.
BLAIR-LOWTHER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, Perryopolis, has been entrusted with the professional arrangements of Larry’s funeral.
