Matt Camp on why things didn’t work out with Megan Morant – PWMania

Former WWE talent Matt Camp recently appeared on an episode of his show “The Wrestling Matt” and discussed a number of topics, including the lack of chemistry between himself and Megan Morant.

Camp said, “You’re 100% right about the lack of chemistry. I don’t know if that played a role. I know the show doesn’t exist, so who knows. The show hasn’t been on for months. I don’t know if she’s coming back. She seems to have been sidelined. The show wasn’t the same without Kayla, 100%.”

Why it didn’t work out with Morant:

“No, there was no chemistry between Megan and I. The fact that I even mentioned her name for the first time on this show should tell you enough. It didn’t work. I tried to help her, but she didn’t want the help. Shit, I’ll go even further, Michael Cole checked in with me to see how she was doing, and I had to tell him, ‘Hmmm, she doesn’t really want the help.’ I’m not here anymore and she is. Call it what you want. No, there was no chemistry between us. I knew it. I tried to help. I wanted her to get better. Initially, she wanted her to get better. ‘Hey, you’re in town for this community event, why don’t you go sit backstage and watch Raw Talk. We’ll show you everything we do.’ ‘Hey, you’re still here, why don’t you go sit down here for The Bump this week.’ ‘It would be cool if we got you on the show. You can do it.’ Things like that started happening. I talked to Cole. ‘Hey, if she wants to keep coming, I’d love to have her with me. She can come with me. She can learn from Jackie, the best. We can show her how it’s done. It’s good to be a part of these things.’ She was excited. It kept going. I encouraged her to do it.”

On Morant’s rise to number 2 behind Kayla Braxton on SmackDown:

“They decided Megan is number two after Kayla on SmackDown. Jackie is moving. We’re going to take Megan off the tour, she’s going to be a Stamford person with me and Ryan. Now she’s going to be on all three shows. OK. I wasn’t thrilled about losing Kayla, but I got it. We’re going to get this done. Let’s do our best. It didn’t work. The trying stops. The conversations I have to have to try to make things better (movements in one ear and out there). No, we didn’t have chemistry. That’s what happened. You don’t always get what you want. You try to make the best of the situation. I can only help to a certain extent. Now that show doesn’t exist anymore.”

On the fact that Morant never contacted him after his release:

“You know who never said a word to me? This needs to be said. I’m kind of sick of this shit. Megan never said a word to me. I got fired. The show went on the air on Wednesday. I get it, they don’t acknowledge these people. No fucking text. Nothing. Nada. Remember that when you help people. Remember that.”

On the subject of not speaking to Morant anymore:

“I don’t really care because I don’t work there anymore and I don’t talk to her, and she obviously has no interest in talking to me even though she’s been helped. She can deny all that shit. I don’t care. It’s the truth. Enough people know that. People I care about know the answer. People she works with know the answer. I said it before I left. You have to connect those dots. I’ve been trying to do that since February. It’s probably true.”
