Over 20 Ohio State University football players come to camp wearing Jesus-themed T-shirts

Jesus is on display in the state of Ohio!

When Ohio State Buckeyes players arrived for fall football camp last week, many of them wore T-shirts with prominent Christian messages, and their photos are now spreading on social media.

At least 21 players from the historic program arrived at the team hotel wearing T-shirts with slogans such as “Follow Jesus,” “Jesus won,” “Jesus saves,” “God has me,” “I’m just here to honor God” and other religious slogans.

Although some commenters objected to the images being posted on sites like the official Ohio State football site, most reactions were overwhelmingly positive.

“THE JESUS โ€‹โ€‹SHIRTS ARE EVERYTHING!! I LOVE OHIO STATE,” one said. Another added, “Man I love how my favorite team represents the King of Kings.”

The comments even bridged perhaps the most bitter rivalry in college sports, as fans of archrival University of Michigan couldn’t help but cheer.

“I’m a Michigan fan and have gained so much respect for this program after this post,” one said, while another admitted that it’s “so hard to root against these guys when you see them in the Jesus Won shirts.”

“Michigan fans will always support Jesus. God is bigger than rivalries ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™Œ,” another fan added.

Buckeye running back TreVeyon Henderson shared photos of the team arriving in gear from Jesus Won Apparel, which also designed a line of team gear for Asbury University. Henderson captioned the images on Instagram, saying:

“Jesus died on the cross and shed his blood to pay for our sins so that we could be forgiven and made right with God. And three days later he rose again and conquered the power of sin that leads to eternal death so that we can gain eternal life and enter the kingdom of heaven!”

Henderson’s biography states: “Jesus saved my life | Servant of Jesus Christ.”

He recently shared a post with a handful of his Buckeye teammates announcing a fall kickoff event for the community, an โ€œevening filled with testimonies, music, baptisms, food and fun.โ€ The event on August 25 is a collaboration between the numerous believers of the OSU football team and several of the university’s campus churches.

Wide receiver Kamryn Babb explained the essence of the event on Instagram:

“Jesus has touched the hearts of many young men on the Ohio State football team over the years. There are so many people like us who are hurting and lost in the world. Whether you believe in Jesus or not, we want to invite ALL to come together to experience the love of Christ together.”

Another contributor to the post was tight end Gee Scott Jr., who recently had the honor of baptizing seven of his Buckeye teammates after preaching at a local church in Ohio. Scott regularly shares the gospel with his teammates and boldly stands for Jesus.

The Buckeyes begin the season as the No. 2 team in the country on August 31 against Akron.
