One of the best flight tracking apps, Flighty, has been updated to include the ability to see why your flight is delayed and how long the delay is expected to last.
Flying 4, Now available for iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and Mac, uses machine learning to monitor why a plane might be delayed, a feature that is currently available to US users. In a press release, the Flighty team explains: “Flighty 4.0 uses machine learning to predict these delays up to six hours before airlines confirm them. Often times, airlines withhold this information, preferring to inform passengers at the last minute,” they continue. “With Flighty, travelers finally know the truth about their delayed flights in advance. The app’s predictions are over 95% accurate in tests. And for those rare cases where your plane is swapped out – Flighty has an alert for that too!”
Ryan Jones, the founder of the company, shows how Flighty 4 indicates a delayed flightThis useful feature allows travelers to make alternative arrangements instead of waiting anxiously at the airport terminal, wondering if they will ever be able to board the plane.
But that’s not all the helpful features. Air traffic controllers, who have been a fixture at airports for decades, are typically stationed in towers near the runways. They assist pilots in making sure planes take off and land safely. Flighty 4 takes the same data that air traffic control relies on and translates it into a useful summary for users. This provides more insight into the reasons for a delay and can potentially reduce stress once a delay is confirmed.
If you’re going on vacation, Flighty 4 is a must-have app for such cases. These new features are part of Flighty Pro, for which users can pay $4 per week, while frequent flyers can choose an annual subscription for $48.
