The 7 Best Things to Do in Colorado This Weekend: August 16-18, 2024

1. Celebrate Aurora’s diversity at Global Fest

Aurora is truly the world in one city, and nowhere is that more evident than at Global Fest, the city’s annual showcase of international cultures. This multicultural event on the Great Lawn of the Aurora Municipal Center brings together the sounds and flavors of nations from around the world and celebrates the diverse cultures and communities that call Aurora home. It takes place Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission to Global Fest is free.

2. If you love peaches, head to Fort Collins for a peach experience

The Fort Collins Peach Festival is all about peaches (hence the name!). Enjoy delicious food and craft beer and other beverages from several beverage vendors. There will also be food trucks, street vendors and more. It all takes place from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday at Civic Center Park in Fort Collins. Admission is free. Find more information here.

3. Show your Southern Colorado pride at Pueblo Pride

Pueblo promises to bring “Rainbow Power” this Sunday as the city celebrates Pride at Mineral Palace Park. There will be a parade, entertainment, food, vendors and more. The parade starts at 10:30 a.m., with the rest of the party going until 4 p.m. The event is free. More information on how to get there and an event schedule can be found here.

4. Mushroom hunting at the Telluride Mushroom Festival

The Telluride Mushroom Festival is all about mushrooms. From now through Sunday, you can learn from other mushroom lovers, experts and scientists through talks on psilocybin mushroom treatments, cooking classes or hikes while you go mushroom hunting and learn all about the fungi species hiding in your backyard. 5. Visit Buffalo Days in Grand Lake

If you’re in the mood for a cool festival in the mountains, head to Grand Lake for Buffalo Days 2024. There will be fireworks, the Lakefront Music Festival, a cornhole tournament, yard games, a 5K run, a lakefront movie, a parade, a pie baking contest and more. More information here.

6. Want to see a free concert? Then the Levitt Pavilion is the place to be.

The 2024 free summer concert season at Levitt Pavilion Denver continues this weekend and runs through early October. Wailing Souls/Itals, Slim Cessna’s Auto Club with Bluebook headline this weekend’s concerts. More information here.

7. Fancy Latin American food? Art? Music? Then head to Solteca Fiesta + Mercado

SOLTECA Fiesta + Mercado celebrates diversity, creativity and collaboration among the Latino and Indigenous communities of Denver and beyond. It will feature music and artists from more than 20 countries and takes place Saturday at Hijos del Sol, 2715 W. 8.th Ave. in Denver. More information here.

Visit Monster Day in Greeley

Monster Day is back in downtown Greeley this year. There will be costumed monsters roaming the squares, professional makeup demonstrations, vendors, food and drinks, monster makeup, face painting, music, kids’ activities, a costume contest and much more!
